Range Rover vs Cadillac Escalade
Two luxury SUVs that solve different problems. The Range Rover is for how the drive feels; the Escalade is for how many people and bags come along.
Side by side
| Spec | Land Rover Range Rover | Cadillac Escalade |
|---|---|---|
| Class | Luxury SUV | Luxury SUV |
| Model year | 2026 | 2023 |
| Seats | 5 | 7 |
| Luggage | Room for a family's weekend bags | Full-size luggage capacity |
| Driving feel | Composed, quiet, great on canyon roads | Soft, cushioned, relaxed on the freeway |
| Best for | Couples and families of up to five | Groups of six or seven, airport runs |
Families and small groups often narrow it down to these two. Both are comfortable, both handle LA freeways easily, and both are delivered to your door. The real question is how many people are coming and where you're driving.
Seats and space
The Range Rover seats five. The Escalade seats seven in three proper rows, with cargo space behind them for full-size suitcases. If your group is six or more, or you're collecting a family from LAX with a week of luggage, the Escalade is the one that fits.
On the road
The Range Rover is the better car to drive when the drive is the point: up Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu, through Topanga or Malibu Canyon, along Mulholland. The Escalade is at its best on long freeway stretches, where its size and soft ride make an hour on the 405 easy.
For longer trips
For multi-day and weekly rentals, the Escalade's extra space makes it the practical choice for a family holiday — ask about weekly rates when you enquire. The Range Rover suits a couple or small family who want something that feels special for the whole stay.
